Preparation and filing of your annual return and abbreviated accounts, maintenance of share register, company officers and so on. Can also include incorporation of your company

 

Payroll

Set up and maintenance including monthly payroll calculations and RTI reporting to HMRC. This includes calculation of your workplace pension payments as now required.

Bookkeeping

We offer a full bookkeeping service for all your business and sole trader accounts. Let us keep track of and manage your VAT returns, Invoicing and day to day expenses. We can also help and advise you in your transition to “Making Tax Digital”,  using HMRC recognised software such as Xero™ or Freeagent™

Our Team

The team, between them have a combined 40 plus years of accounting experience, with Richard having over 30 years.
The team is close knit and is headed up by Sue Hitchcox.

Richard Riley DipPFS F.C.C.A.

Richard Riley is a Chartered Certified Accountant with thirty years experience in large and SME companies both in the UK and overseas. He has a unique mix of talents having combined his long career as an Accountant and Entrepreneur with a passion for broadcasting which has led to him presenting news and current affairs programmes for the BBC over a twenty year period. Qualifying as an Accountant with Sotheby’s, the Fine Art Auctioneers, he went on to travel many countries with a large multi national construction, steel and foundry business owned by Burmah Castrol

Sue Hitchcox - MAAT

Practice Manager

I have been working for Richard Riley and Associates since 2010 after qualifying as an Accounting Technician with the AAT.  I have undertaken a variety of rolls from being a qualified Member of the Society of Apothecaries to Training Manager with Abbott Labs.  I am currently working towards my Chartered Accountants qualification with the ACCA.

Clare Smith

Senior Accounts Assistant

I have been working for Richard Riley and Associates since September 2013. I was returning to work after taking time off to have my 2 children. Previously I worked in secondary schools as a Learning Support Assistant but knew I wanted to change career. I am now a level 2 qualified Accounting Technician and love my job and all it entails. Richard is a fabulous boss who told me in my interview that my family comes first and that has never changed. The office is somewhere I want to be in the morning as we all have a great working relationship and I feel I can truly say all the girls (and Richard) are not just my work colleagues but my friends.

I joined Richard Riley and Associates in 2016 when my youngest started primary school.  My previous roles include credit controller for Blackwell’s bookshop and Pow wow water, to working on the production line at BMW Plant Oxford.   I met my husband at BMW and whilst on maternity leave I studied for my AAT qualification.

 

Sarah Yates

Admin Assistant

I joined Richard Riley & Associates as Practice Administrator in 2018 having previously worked as a PA in the law sector.

I am mum to 2 teenage girls who keep me on my toes.  When I am not being their personal taxi service I enjoy catching up with friends, painting, walking and reading.
